TEAMS
The DEEPER FANTASY league will consist of 16 teams seperated into two leagues (North-East League and South-West League) of 8 teams each.
Each league will be divided into two divisions consisting of 4 teams each.
All owners are requested to be very active in the league. This is extremely necessary due to the depth and complexities of the league.
The commish holds the right to expel an owner at any time due to inactivity over an extended period of time or other circumstances deemed necessary.
ROSTERS
Each team's roster will consist of up to:
UP TO 40 MAJOR LEAGUE PLAYERS
UP TO 60 MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS
UP TO 4 INJURY RESERVE POSITIONS
The roster breakdown will consist of up to:
22 ACTIVE PLAYERS
UP TO 18 RESERVE PLAYERS
UP TO 60 MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS
UP TO 4 INJURY RESERVE POSITIONS
UP TO 104 TOTAL PLAYERS (WITH IR)
POSITION LIMITS
1 Active Catcher
1 Active First Baseman
1 Active Second Baseman
1 Active Third Baseman
1 Active Shortstop
3 Active Outfielders
3 Utility Hitters
5 Starting Pitchers
6 Relief Pitchers
18 Reserve Positions (Hitters or Pitchers)
POSITION ELIGIBILITY
Players are eligible at their primary position, plus positions they've played 15 games last year or 5 games this year.
YEARS
Each team will have a maximum of 100 years of contracts to assign to those on their major league rosters.
The deadline will be set on a yearly basis for any new contracts that need to be assigned years.
The maximum number of years for a contract for any individual player is 7 years.
The whole contract (salary and years) are included in any trade that occurs with no renegotation of the contract allowed.
If a player retires during the season, the contract (salary and years) will be voided the next year. The contract will still count against you during the current season.
Example: Roberto Alomar. A player must announce his retirement before the beginning of a season (in this case we will define that as the first game for any team) for the owner to be able to waive the player and be relieved of the years and salary
SCORING
The DEEPER FANTASY league will be set up as a head-to-head scoring league with a total of 12 categories. There will be 6 categories for both hitting and pitching.
The scoring categories are as follows:
HITTING
Batting Average
On Base Percentage (OBP)
Runs
Home Runs
Runs Batted In
Stolen Bases
PITCHING
Wins
Saves
Strikeouts
Holds
ERA
WHIP
INJURED RESERVE
CBS allows you to place any player on injured reserve. However, for our league these spots are only eligible for players who are or were injured. Therefore, if any team is caught with a healthy player on IR that played, will immediately be placed on waivers by one of the commishes because that team violated the rules. The player then goes through the 72 hour waiver period, if no team claims him then the offending team may reclaim the player and PLACE HIM BACK ON THEIR ACTIVE (NOT IR) ROSTER. This will prevent teams from putting healthy players on IR just to clear roster space, because if they do so they are subject to a hefty penalty.
Obviously, if you place a player on IR because he is on the DL and he comes back and you forget to move him, then a commish will either alert you that you need to move the player to the active roster, or the commish will do so himself. If the commish moves the player and then finds out later that you have moved him back to IR then he will be waived. Also, if the commish alerts you to the situation and you do not move the player within 3 weeks of the warning then he will go through waivers.
Players may not be on the IR during the offseason.
TIME
A day ends at 11:59 PM Eastern time.
COMPLIANCE
If, at the end of a season when minors are returned to your minors roster, you have more than the maximum number of 60 minors, you must make a move to rectify this before being allowed to bid in free agency. If you make a trade, either the trade brings your team into compliance or a concurrent move must be made to bring the team into compliance.
The graduation of minors (minors losing minor league eligibility) and removal of players from the IR may cause your team to be in violation of the 40 man roster limit, the 100 year limit and/or the $100M CAP limit. You must trade, waive or waiver pass and be in compliance in all three by the time FA begins. (Date to be set yearly)
If you now have 41 or more players on your majors roster, you may NOT bid in FA until you bring your roster back to 40. If you have 41 or more players and make a trade that does not bring you back to 40 or less, a concurrent move must be made to bring your roster back to 40.
If you now have more than 100 years committed, any trade you make must either result in you being at or below 100 years or be accompanied by concurrent moves that result in compliance. FAs, when signed in the offseason, are temporarily considered to have a one year contract. If you are already at 100 years or more, and acquire a FA, you must concurrently make whatever moves necessary to be in compliance.
If you are now over the $100M CAP, you may not bid in FA until you are under the CAP. If you make a trade, it must bring you into compliance or you must make a concurrent move to be in compliance.
